Welcome to The Gov Shack LIVE, where I break down real solutions for New York State and how I would fix them as Governor of New York. Today we\u2019re asking a critical question facing every New Yorker: Should leaders focus on quality of life \u2014 or cost of living?<\/p>\n

When Zohran Mamdani ran for NYC Mayor, he focused heavily on cost of living. When Kathy Hochul ran for Governor in 2022, she talked about affordability. But now the focus has shifted to pollution, congestion pricing, traffic, and lifestyle regulations \u2014 often with average New Yorkers paying the price and seeing little financial return.<\/p>\n

Are these policies actually improving life for working families, or are they making New York even less affordable? Can we improve quality of life without crushing people with higher costs? And shouldn\u2019t the people who benefit most \u2014 not commuters, renters, or small businesses \u2014 be the ones paying?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll review a video clip, share my solutions, and take LIVE comments and questions as we explore how New York can balance livability, affordability, and fairness.<\/p>\n
