Welcome to The Gov Shack LIVE, where I share real, practical solutions for New York State and how I would fix them as Governor of New York. Today we\u2019re talking about a serious issue: the recent violence in a middle-class neighborhood in Queens \u2014 and what both parties are getting completely wrong.<\/p>\n

Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul will say the answer is more funding. Republican candidate Elise Stefanik will say the answer is more police. But as usual, neither approach solves the root problem. So what will work? How can we actually defend communities, reduce crime, empower neighborhoods, and keep New Yorkers safe \u2014 without expanding government spending or relying on endless policing?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll share my solutions for community-based safety, smarter justice reforms, stronger local institutions, and proven strategies that make neighborhoods safer long-term. I\u2019ll also take LIVE audience comments and questions as we talk about how New York can create real public safety, not political talking points.<\/p>\n
